The Spirit Within Us

Berniaz Adha (b. 1990) is an Indonesian artist whose sculptural works are rooted in personal reflection, emotional honesty, and the quiet power of inner worlds. Through bold forms and playful colors, his pieces may appear light at first glance—but beneath them lies something far more intimate: thoughts, feelings, and parts of himself that are often difficult to put into words.

 

For Berniaz, creating is not simply about making objects, but about giving shape to what is felt within. His works become vessels for memory, longing, vulnerability, hope, and the personal fire that keeps a person moving forward. Each piece carries its own emotional weight—born from moments of searching, believing, and trying to hold on to something meaningful in the midst of life.
 

In The Spirit (Fire) Within Us,  Berniaz reflects on a truth he believes lives in all of us that somewhere deep inside, there is a fire waiting to be lit.  A fire to dream, to become, to rise,  and to eventually shine in our own time.  Through this body of work, he invites viewers  to reconnect with that part of themselves the part that still burns, even quietly.​​​​​
