Mirage

Entering its third year since its inception in 2024, the J+ Art Awards 2026, initiated by Connected Art Platform, returns as an annual art competition supporting contemporary art practice and Indonesian creative talent. As part of this year's roadshow leading to the Awarding Night this coming October, the exhibition MIRAGE continues its journey at Meiro Gallery as the second stop following its initial opening venue. Marking the first year of collaboration with Meiro Gallery, the showcase spotlights selected artists, expands dialogue around this year's theme, and is supported by EKRAF as part of Oktober Kreasi - EKRAF.

Themed MIRAGE, the J+ Art Awards 2026 invites artists to reflect on the increasingly fluid boundaries between perception, reality, illusion, memory, and hope. Much like an illusion that constantly shifts as it is approached, MIRAGE questions how we make sense of reality amid uncertainty.

​The J+ Art Awards 2026 Open Call received over 400 submissions from 43 countries. Through a curation process led by Dr. Aisha Almisnad (Doha, Qatar), Prof. Noboru Tsubaki (Kyoto, Japan), Flora Miranda (Austria - Belgium), Mona Liem (Indonesia - Switzerland), and M. Ilham Samudra (Jatiwangi, Indonesia). 

In this group exhibition at Meiro Gallery, works by 13 artists reflect on the complex interplay of identity, exploring digital fatigue, modern life pressures, and the resilient search for inner healing and hope.
