GI Mall January 2026 Installation

The successful installation of 2 sculptures at the Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall marks not only Meiro Gallery’s first event of 2026, but a shared moment where art and public encounter. Crafted with profound artistic integrity by 3 Balinese artists — Yessiow and Zolalongor featuring the design of I Komang Adiartha — this collaborative sculpture embodies the spirit of today’s generation—curious, dynamic, yet constantly seeking balance amid rapid change.

Inspired by tropical life and Balinese craftsmanship, it creates a dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression. The blend of soft blue, orange, and white tones reflects harmony between energy and calmness. Through the playful yet contemplative Monkey Millennial figure, the piece reminds us that identity and comfort are not bound to a single place, but to the memories and values we carry wherever we go

Zolalongor channels his tropical surroundings of Bali into the Monkey Millennial sculpture, blending nostalgia for the island’s natural beauty with concern over its environmental decline due to overdevelopment. The hybrid floral motifs—resembling Frangipani and Alamanda—emerge from his subconscious memories of tropical life.

We sincerely thank the Grand Indonesia Mall management team for the opportunity, generosity, and collaboration, allowing art to breathe freely in such a vibrant public space. May this beginning set the tone for a year filled with meaningful dialogue, creativity, and shared cultural resonance.
