CutieSlap!

Born in Indonesian in 1995, Based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Nyochotan's works have a strong visual feeling of flat two dimensions, and on top of the traditional Japanese anime modeling, the artist has recreated based on Indonesian culture.  The image of the woman in Nyochotan's paintings is not merely an extension of emotion or everyday life, but simply as an expression of artistic objects, which provides a subcultural aesthetic taste and examines it in one's own personal experience.

In CutieSlap!, Nyochotan stages a charged encounter between cuteness and visual intensity. Where softness is not passive, but confrontational. Rooted in a distinctly two-dimensional visual language shaped by manga and anime, the works are recontextualized through the lens of Indonesian popular culture, forming a hybrid aesthetic that feels both intimate and culturally resonant.

The female figures in Nyochotan's works are presented not simply as emotional or narrative representations, but as aesthetic forms that embody subcultural sensibilities and personal experience. Through these images, the artist creates a visual space where softness and boldness coexist.

Drawing from the immediacy of sticker slap culture in urban environments, CutieSlap! adopts a visual strategy that is direct, playful, and unapologetically bold. Like stickers layered across public surfaces, the works operate through impact-quick, striking, and lingering. This gesture transforms the gallery into a charged visual field, where images don't simply sit-they hit.
